OUTCOME RESEARCH
Recent research involving narrative therapy reveals that it is effective and supportive of various mental health disorders:
-
depression
-
anxiety
-
phobias
-
panic disorders
-
obsessive-compulsive disorder
-
perfectionism
-
chronic pain
-
addictions

Narrative therapy supports individuals by making sense of their experiences with the use of story telling. Oftentimes, the stories of our lives can be influenced by external factors that can alter the meaning we assign to them. Through the use of narrative therapy interventions, we can re-write old stories or start to write new stories based on our strengths, preferences, and hope for the future.

AN INTEGRATED APPROACH
I practice from a client-centered, integrated approach and believe in providing a warm, healing environment to all who cross my path. Through working in collaboration with each client, I can tailor therapy to address their specific needs with their understanding and valuable feedback as we progress. I see the client as being central to his, her, or their healing and understand that they know their inner experience better than anyone else.

In addition to narrative therapy, I am inspired by:
-
emotion-focused therapy
-
mindfulness-based therapy
-
compassion-focused therapy
-
existential therapy
-
somatic experiencing

Also, I use an evidence-based practice, which means that I use therapies that are thoroughly researched and supported across psychology and counselling disciplines. In this way, I am confident that my techniques are inclusive and supportive of people coming from various backgrounds, experiences, and cultures.
I am honoured to be a part of one's journey and hold each client's story as sacred.
